26th September

The wonderful vehicles of the Barnet Classic Car Show will be on display again starting at 11:00am with a parade along the High Street.  The cars will then be on view on the top floor of The Spires NCP car park from around 11.30 am until 2.00 pm.  If wet, the venue will change to the basement of the car park.

It is expected that between 60 and 70 cars will be on display. Entertainment is also being provided in the form of the talented local singer, Katie Oldham, with her backing group (Down 2 Earth).

This year will see the sixth Barnet Classic Car Show and the site chosen is the top floor of the NCP Car Park in The Spires Shopping Centre, thanks to the backing of the Spires management and NCP.   The top floor will make for views over Barnet.
There will be over 40 cars of different ages varying from a beautiful 1920s Bentley to much more modern machinery, with music and a charity refreshments stall.
The Barnet Teenage Market will also be at the bandstand area behind Waitrose.

There is a long and unbroken tradition in our country of celebrating Royal jubilees, weddings, coronations and special birthdays with the lighting of beacons - The last major beacon celebration was on Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on 4th June 2012
The Beacon Project, by agreement with The Royal Household, will form an important part of The Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations and Her Majesty The Queen has graciously agreed to light the Principal Beacon on 21st April 2016.

St Mary's Church, Monken Hadley, Drury Road
JULY 2012

For hundreds of years the beacon has been high on top of our beloved St Mary's Church. It was fired up for this auspicious occasion and  to rejoice in the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The special evening event took place in July 2012 and was a great success.
