Fight The Increases In Barnets Parking Charges​, 2013

 

The local residents' action group who fought the increases to Barnet's parking charges, led by local solicitor David Attfield, reached the High Court in July. The High Court ruled that the increaes violated the 1984 Road Traffic Act. This victory means that not only will parking costs reduce, but residents are also entitled to a refund for the amounts they have been overcharged over the last 
two years.  

 

Barnet Council were ordered to refund David Attfield, £120 for excess charges.

 

The council will not automatically refund residents who have been overcharged; residents will  have to submit claims. For  details of how to claim check out the action group's website
